Peaceful Warriors: A Healing Circle for Men of Color

When: Tuesday, September 24th, 6 - 7:30pm

By Donation: $10 - $20 Heart Donations (no one turned away for lack of funds)

Register by 5:30pm on the day of a circle HERE.

Peaceful Warriors was created to offer a safe place for men to connect with their emotions, spirit, and brotherhood. We recognize that the socially imposed ideas of what a "man" should be, are rooted in a toxic, violent male-dominated oppressive system. Only men can heal themselves and reclaim our identity of nurturing healthy masculinity. Through this process, we build a support system rooted in forgiveness, gratitude, acceptance, and LOVE.

All folks of color with male energy are welcome to attend. That includes queer, straight, two-spirit, trans, gay, and mixed backgrounds are welcome into the circle.

“Your Ancestors Love You” - chicome

“Peaceful Warriors has provided me with the gift of having a safe space to share wisdom, remain accountable, and above all be heard. As a young man who struggles with feelings of loneliness and depression, I have long felt the need for connection in a world that often conditions us to keep these feelings to ourselves. Peaceful Warriors proves there is power in not being alone and there is strength in collective healing. I am thankful for finding this circle and hope other men can find a similar peace.”- Ivan

Luis Marroquin

Luis Marroquin has facilitated men's healing circles for the past 8 years in the San Francisco, Bay Area. He supports these men by using tools that he calls medicine such as talking circles, drums, and meditation, to name a few. Luis also uses his life story to connect with men of color and to support them through their healing journey. He recognizes that personal and generational trauma is the root cause of unhealthy behaviors that men struggle with daily. This is why the Peaceful Warriors was created, out of the necessity to make safe spaces that allow men of color to be emotionally vulnerable. Through these healing circles and a nurturing support system, these men have been learning to process trauma in a safer way that has allowed them to reclaim their identity as healthy men of color.
