How To Help Your Baby Sleep Better

Getting your baby to sleep is tough. However, we learned via The Bump 4 ways you can help your baby sleep better.

  1. Clear the clutter - Remove all distractions from the crib. Toys make your baby wonder "is this a play pen or a place to sleep?” Keep the crib free of toys and place them aside.

  2. Start cool - Babies sleep the best when the temperature is consistent and cool, between 68 and 72 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, try to place your crib in a spot that isn’t directly in the pathway of your heating vents. Keep your crib in a spot that is far from windows to protect from noise and wind drafts.

  3. Dim the lights - Light signals daytime for babies, so by blocking out the sun and keeping him in a dim light will surely help your baby sleep better.

  4. Soothe with sound - Pick up a white noise machine to cancel out house noise, cars or other sounds. Just be sure to not leave it on too high so it won’t hurt your babies’ sensitive ears. It will bring back memories of being in the womb and nothing is soother than that.
