Pregnancy Meditation and Yoga Are More Than Trendy, It's Beneficial for Mama and Baby

Pregnancy meditation and prenatal yoga are more than just a trend in 2015. We learned via Healthline that they provide several physical and emotional benefits for the mother and baby.

To begin, practicing meditation and yoga during pregnancy will:

  • Provide better sleep

  • Allow you to connect with your beautiful, changing body

  • Relieve stress and anxiety

  • Lower the risk of postpartum depression

  • Create a more peaceful mind during pregnancy and labor

Mothers with high levels of stress can negatively impact their own health and of their growing babies. Healthline reported that, "Moms who have high levels of stress or anxiety during pregnancy are more likely to deliver their babies at preterm or low birth weights." In addition, they reported that prenatal stress can affect the the baby's "cognitive, emotional, and physical development in infancy and childhood."
